A friend of mine shared a coupon experience with me today that I thought was definitely worth sharing.
As she was checking out at her local Big Y, she handed her cashier her coupons, got her total, paid her bill and headed out the store. She was being diligent in checking her receipt and noticed that her $1.00 Tide coupon only deducted $0.20 instead of the $1.00 it should have. Not only did it take off the wrong amount, the wrong amount was even deducted incorrectly. If the coupon was under $1.00, this store automatically doubles and that didn't happen either!
Some may think $0.80 isn't a big deal. But think about how that can add up over time. Sometimes, we may only purchase an item because we have a coupon. Errors like the above only defeat the purpose trying to save. My friend was smart and took her receipt to the Customer Service desk and had them adjust it and gave her the $0.80.
Moral of the story: Watch that Register & Check those Receipts!! Just because it beeped when they scanned your coupon doesn't mean it went through correctly. Keep that money in your own pocket!!
